Dibs dibs dibs!
- The Week I Was Stalked
- The narrator writes about how she was stalked by a Barry Manilow song.
Just a short story idea.
- The Great War of 1979
- Semi-fictionalized tale of my last year in Jackson, Mississippi. Told
in the style of a military history account of the grade-school War Between
The Girls And The Boys, with the character that is me-but-not-me as leader
of the boys, and with all our imagined things, the time machine, Bloody
Mary, the tunnel to the other side of the world, the garden spider, and
the wood ducks and who had more control over the dogs' affections. Yeah,
so I'm vaguely inspired by Edwin Mullhouse. Sometime around
chapter 4: "I was an unlikely King of the Boys, long-haired and nipply as
I was." Is this too predictable? You tell me.
- The Conspiracy of 1947
- A semi-fictionalized account of the 1947 federal antitrust cases
against GM, Mack Truck, Firestone, and Standard Oil, in which they were
found guilty of, well, basically destroying America's trolley systems, but
were only fined $5,000 each. Just because this whole episode in our
history fascinates me.
